This New Position Reflects Hopkins House’s Ongoing Commitment to Operational Excellence
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Alexandria, Virginia — Hopkins House is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Deborah Okyere as the first Director of the organization’s new Program Compliance & Administrative Services office. In this new role she will oversee compliance with federal, state, and local regulations; licensing and accreditation activities; as well as administrative operations; records management; policy implementation; quality assurance; staff training; and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization’s programs.
Ms. Okyere currently serves as Hopkins House’s Program Compliance Officer, as well as Assistant Director of the Early Childhood Learning Institute (ECLI), a position she will leave when she starts her new role on August 10.
“I am honored and grateful for this opportunity to continue serving an organization whose mission I care deeply about,” said Deborah Okyere. “Hopkins House has a long tradition of providing outstanding educational opportunities for children, youth, and families, and I look forward to working closely with our leadership team to ensure our operations, compliance systems, and administrative services continue to reflect the highest standards of excellence.”
Part of Organization’s Cost Containment Strategy
As part of the organization’s ongoing cost-containment strategy, this new position consolidates the responsibilities of two existing roles — Program Compliance Officer and Central Office Manager — into a single senior management position, enabling Hopkins House to contain administrative costs while maintaining the critical support services necessary to operate efficiently and effectively.
“Deborah brings a unique combination of educational leadership, administrative expertise, and deep knowledge of childcare and other regulations that will strengthen our organization for years to come,” said J. Glenn Hopkins, President and CEO of Hopkins House. “At the same time, consolidating these critical administrative functions allows us to contain costs while preserving the high-quality support services our programs require.”
She will be a core member of Hopkins House’s Central Office team, reporting to Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Garvey Wright.
“This appointment reflects our ongoing commitment to operating efficiently, investing wisely, and continuously improving the systems that support our team and the children, youth, and families we serve,” said Wright. “Deborah’s leadership in this important Central Office role will help ensure Hopkins House remains both operationally strong and financially responsible.”
