In a letter signed by former Alexandria City Attorney and Hopkins House board chair, James L. Banks, Sr., Hopkins House trustees call on the Alexandria City Public Schools Board to "do what is right, smart, and honorable: Vote on July 10 to remove the name of an avowed segregationist and proud racist from our public high school. Further delay is not an option."

The Hopkins House trustees are urging the members of the Alexandria City Public Schools board to vote at their upcoming virtual meeting on July 10, to rename T.C. Williams High School. The high school is named in honor of Thomas Chambliss (T.C.) Williams, a committed racist and segregationist.
