New Principal will lead the work required to prepare the new academy for opening this fall.

Alexandria, Virginia — Hopkins House is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Anna Ankomah as the founding Principal of the new Kingstowne Preschool Academy, scheduled to open in Fairfax County this fall. Ms. Ankomah is currently the Assistant Principal of Hopkins House’s James L. & Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy. She will start in this new leadership role on August 10.
The Kingstowne Preschool Academy is part of Fairfax County’s new Kingstowne Complex, which also includes the Kingstowne Regional Library, Franconia Police Station, Franconia District Supervisor’s Office, Franconia Museum, and Active Adult Center.

Throughout the summer, Ms. Ankomah will work closely with Fairfax County officials and lead the extensive work required to secure the new academy’s childcare license, recruit and train educators and support staff, establish operational systems and policies, and prepare classrooms to ensure the academy is ready to welcome its first preschool young scholars and their families this fall.

The Kingstowne Preschool Academy
The Kingstowne Preschool Academy is located at 7130 Silver Lake Boulevard in Fairfax County. The approximately 10,000-square-foot facility will serve up to 78 children, ages six weeks through five years, and will feature six classrooms, a modern outdoor playground, and age-appropriate learning environments designed to support the cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development of children. It will offer full-day, year-round early childhood education programs for children, 6 weeks to 5 years of age. Families will benefit from Hopkins House’s research-based curriculum, highly qualified educators, nutritious meals, family engagement initiatives, and comprehensive school readiness programming.
