ALEXANDRIA, VA — Hopkins House today announced the promotion of Ms. Ashraf Sultana and Mr. Eric Akoto to Assistant Principal positions within the organization’s growing family of Preschool Academies. Both appointments become effective next month (i.e., August) and reflect Hopkins House’s commitment to developing talented leaders from within the organization.
Ms. Sultana has been promoted to Assistant Principal of the Hopkins House – James L. & Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy in Fairfax County. Employed at Hopkins House since 2018, she currently serves as Office Manager at the Hopkins House Central Office and previously served with distinction as Assistant Principal of the organization’s former Innovative Preschool Academy in Herndon. She has a bachelor’s degree in management.
Mr. Akoto has been promoted to Assistant Principal of the new Hopkins House – Kingstowne Preschool Academy, which is scheduled to open on August 31 in Fairfax County. He currently serves as a Teacher at the Hopkins House – Helen Day Preschool Academy in the City of Alexandria. Earlier in his Hopkins House career, he served as the Academy’s Assistant Principal before leaving the organization briefly to pursue another professional opportunity. His promotion marks a welcome return to academy leadership. First hired at Hopkins House in 2021, he earned recognition for his dedication to children, commitment to educational excellence, and leadership within the classroom. He has a master’s degree in teaching English as a Second Language.

The appointments are part of Hopkins House’s ongoing investment in leadership development and organizational growth as it expands early childhood education services throughout Northern Virginia.
