Under the stewardship of our Public Policy & Advocacy Committee, this Hopkins House project is designed to provide parents of young children, as well as early care and education professionals, and community activists, with the skills essential to effectively communicating their needs and opinions to elected officials, policy makers, and the community.
- Self-advocacy is the ability to communicate your needs.
- People who self-advocate are more likely to thrive in school, work, and life.
- Self-advocacy skills can be learned at any age.

Hopkins House is a nonpartisan 501(C)3 nonprofit organization and does not participate in or intervene in (including the publishing or distributing of statements), any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for public office. Our education (including public forums) and voter registration activities are conducted in a non-partisan manner and intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process.
