New Principal at McNeil Academy

Hopkins House announces the appointment of Mrs. Deborah Boateng-Beckson as Principal of its James L. & Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy located in the Mt. Vernon community of southeast Fairfax County, just north of Ft. Belvoir.

Mrs. Boateng-Beckson joined the Hopkins House staff in 2010. She has a Master’s degree in Education Management and over 12 years of professional experience in the early care and education field.

"We are really pleased to make this appointment," said Hopkins House president, J. Glenn Hopkins. "Deborah has a wealth of knowledge in the field and deep appreciation for the high standard of early care and education excellence we strive for at Hopkins House."

Originally from Ghana in West Africa, she is fluent inTwi, Ga, Fante, and English.

Through hard work and strong commitment to personal growth and advancement, Mrs. Boateng-Beckson has earned progressive promotions at Hopkins House, starting from Teacher, to Assistant Principal and finally to Principal. She formerly served as principal of Hopkins House's Helen Day Preschool in the City of Alexandria.

Mrs. Boateng-Beckson is a resident of Virginia and has a child enrolled at Hopkins House.
