Hopkins House has open a new
Innovative Preschool Academy in Herndon, Virginia. The newly built academy, located on the first floor at 200 Fairbrook Drive, is open 7 am to 6 pm, year-round. A total of 120 students, ages 6 weeks to 5 years old, will be enrolled at the academy and applications are being accepted now.
The academy features highly credentialed faculty, and all new facilities and equipment including a newly constructed playground donated by the Disney Company and built by over 160 volunteers from the local community. Tuition assistance and special introductory rates are being offered during the month of September.
In a unique partnership with renowned think tank, Rand Corporation, this new academy will offer world-class early care and education based on new approaches to improving child outcomes. The goal of this partnership is to ensure that the "Young Scholars" who graduate from the academy are exceptionally prepared for achievement in kindergarten and life. The academy will also focus a portion of the children's day on science, technology, engineering and math concepts - in addition to the usual allotment of fun and play.
Founded in 1939, and celebrating its 75th anniversary this year, Hopkins House is considered one of the top preschool academies in the region. Its two other academies, one located in Alexandria and the other in Fairfax County, are nationally accredited and star-rated. In 2010,
Northern Virginia Magazine rated the Hopkins House among the Commonwealth's top preschools.
