Today, Mark and Brenda Moore announced a $250,000 gift to Hopkins House.  This is the second major donation to the organization by this philanthropic power couple.

"This marvelous gift from Mark and Brenda Moore demonstrates their passionate commitment to the education and wellbeing of the children, youth, and families served by Hopkins House, and their commitment to the broader community.  We are so grateful for their friendship and generosity," said President J. Glenn Hopkins.

This is also the first gift to The Hopkins House Fund, set up earlier this year by the trustees to increase individual, company, foundation, and government financial support to the organization.  Mark Moore is the first board chair of this new fund.  He, along with the fund’s new Executive Director, Ted Lewis, are working to build the organization’s fundraising capacity.

Brenda Moore is a Hopkins House Trustee and former chair of the organization’s fundraising and special events committee.

Mark Moore and his wife live in Northern Virginia and contribute generously to a number of local and regional charities including INOVA Health Systems, Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, Posse D.C., and Hopkins House.
