Innovative Preschool Open House

May 7, 2014 01:18 PM
Hopkins House is hosting an open house at its new Innovative Preschool Academy in Herndon, Virginia, on Saturday, May 17.  The open house, at 200 Fairbrook Drive, kicks off at 10 am and features a moon bounce, movies, games for children, and a raffle and tour for adults. The academy is scheduled to open this month and is Hopkins House's third preschool.
Founded in 1939 and headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, Hopkins House has operated continuously for 75 years.  Hopkins House is a learning center for children, youths and families.
This newest Hopkins House academy is a state-of-the-art early learning center.  Developed in collaboration with RAND, the renowned think tank, and relying on a nationally recognized and age appropriate curriculum, educators with college degrees and a wealth of experience, and new models of teaching, the preschool academy will emphasize 21st century learning and achievement for children (ages 6 weeks to 5 years old).
"The goal of this new Innovative Preschool Academy is to improve child outcomes in secondary school and beyond," says Chief Academic Officer Raymel Menefee.  "We want to nurture the learning process in each child enrolled at the academy such that he or she performs at their very best, while also having fun, growing, and developing as individuals."
The academy will operate year-round and will be open from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm daily.
