Alexandria, VA – In response to President Donald Trump’s decision to remove restrictions preventing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from conducting raids at schools and other previously protected locations, Hopkins House has issued new guidance to its management team to protect its staff, students, and their families from unlawful actions by federal immigration officials.
This guidance reinforces the Hopkins House Trustees’ commitment, established on April 24, 2017, with their adoption of the “Nondiscrimination and Inclusiveness Policy.” This policy firmly upholds the rights of all Hopkins House students, educators, and staff, regardless of immigration or citizenship status.

The issued guidance outlines measures to ensure that students, families, and staff are protected, including protocols for responding to ICE actions and reinforcing the sanctity of educational spaces. Hopkins House urges all educators and childcare providers to remain vigilant and proactive in safeguarding the rights of children and their families.
