Hopkins House Preschool Academies Ranked Among Top in Region

July 25, 2017 11:51 AM

In its Education Issue, Northern Virginia Magazine ranked all three Hopkins House preschool academies --
Helen Day Preschool Academy (Alexandria), Innovative Preschool Academy (Herndon), and James L. & Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy (Fairfax County) --  among the top preschools in the region.

This latest honor adds to the growing body of high quality program designations earned by Hopkins House in recent years, including NAEYC accreditation (a  distinction of quality bestowed on fewer than 9% of centers nationwide) and Virginia Star Rating, a statewide quality standard.

Based on a survey of over 950 state-licensed child care centers in Northern Virginia, the magazine reported that the staff and facilities of these top rated preschools "go above and beyond both the state's licensing requirements and the average center in Northern Virginia."  The rankings were based on teacher certifications, teacher-to-student ratios, parent and teacher communication, curriculum, and facilities.
"It's such great news when an outside examiner verifies the high quality of our preschool academies," said J. Glenn Hopkins, President/CEO of Hopkins House.
NVMagBadge"We work very hard to provide the best early care and education for our young scholars. Our preschool educators are highly educated and experienced; our facilities are state-of-the-art, clean, and safe; we use a nationally recognized early childhood education curriculum; we are nationally accredited; and, we have terrific parental engagement."
The rankings are published in the magazine's August 2017 issue.
