Hopkins House Announces Slate of Trustee Nominees

Today, Hopkins House announced 13 nominees for election to its Board of Trustees. Board members are elected annually to provide governance, strategic direction, and policy for the organizaton.  This will be Hopkins House's 77th board since its founding in 1939.  Hopkins House is a 501(c)3 charitable organization, headquartered in Fairfax County, Virginia.
 
Hopkins House operates preschool academies on three campuses in Northern Virginia, and a workforce development program that assists teens and adults to earn stackable professional credentials, college credits, and careers in the early care and education field. 
 
The organization has a budget of over $4 million, employs some 85 educators and administrative professionals, and serves approximately 400 children, youth, and adults.
 
The 13 nominees to the board will be voted on by the Hopkins House Community Stakeholders at their annnual meeting & Luncheon on June 10 at The Carlyle Club in Alexandria, Virginia.  If elected, they will be members of the Class of 2018 and serve a two year term.  They will join the 9 continuing Trustees, Class of 2017, for a total of 26 members of the Board of Trustees.  Four new members are nominated along with 9 current trustees nominated for re-election. 
 
Trustees are nominated based on their professional experience, civic engagement, and philanthropy.  Most nominees have served for a year or more on one of the board's four policy committees.
