Souad Tabarak
Hopkins House is proud to recognize Souad Tabarak, a dedicated teacher at the Helen Day Preschool Academy, as part of its ongoing Educator Spotlight series. Ms. Souad embodies the Hopkins House mission by inspiring children to see themselves as capable, confident, and full of possibility.
“Childcare is about lifting children up,” says Ms. Souad. “I love being around children and bringing the energy needed to match their excitement. What I treasure most is the unconditional love that young children so freely share.”
Her most rewarding experiences as an educator have come in the United States, where she has embraced the play-based model of early childhood education. In her home country of Morocco, children were taught under rigid schedules with little encouragement for free play. At Hopkins House, Ms. Souad finds joy in seeing how play and learning are woven together, creating an environment where children thrive.
Ms. Souad also takes on one of the greatest challenges in early learning: helping children who enter the classroom with a negative self-image. With warmth, positivity, and consistent encouragement, she works to build confidence, strengthen decision-making skills, and help each child realize their full potential.
“Ms. Souad reflects the very best of Hopkins House,” said Dr. Justin Thomas, Principal, at the Hopkins House Helen Day Preschool Academy. “Her dedication to play-based learning and her ability to nurture children’s confidence make a lasting impact on our Young Scholars and their families.”
Hopkins House is proud to feature Ms. Souad Tabarak and celebrate the educators who make early learning meaningful for children across Northern Virginia.
