Your Generous Gift to Hopkins House provides the resources needed to offer high quality, high impact educational programs and services to the community's children, youths, and families, helping them to achieve their full intellectual, economic, and social potential. 

 

Hopkins House is a 501(c)3 Nonprofit Organization under the U.S. Internal Revenue Code. Contributions to Hopkins House are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law and always acknowledged in writing.

Children’s Scholarship Fund
This Fund provides financial assistance to low-resourced working and military families with children to ensure that no child is unable to attend the Hopkins House Preschool Academy because his or her family cannot afford the tuition. View Video

$250 gift funds a scholarship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for ONE CHILD of a low-resourced working or military family for FULL WEEK of Summer Discovery Camp.

  • $500 gift funds a scholarship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for ONE CHILD of a low-resourced working or military family for TWO FULL WEEKS at the Preschool Academy.
  • $1,000 gift funds a scholarship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for ONE CHILD of a low-resourced working or military family for a FULL MONTH at the Preschool Academy.
  • $2,500 gift funds scholarships, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for FIVE CHILDREN of low-resourced working or military families for TWO FULL WEEKS of Summer Discovery Camp.
  • $5,000 gift funds scholarships, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for FIVE CHILDREN of low-resourced working or military families for A FULL MONTH of Summer Discovery Camp.
  • $7,500 gift funds a scholarship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for ONE CHILD of a low-resourced working or military family for SIX MONTHS at the Preschool Academy.
  • $15,000 gift funds a scholarship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for ONE CHILD of a low-resourced working or military family for A FULL YEAR at the Preschool Academy.


College Fellowships Fund
This Fund provides teens enrolled in Hopkins House's Early Childhood Learning Institute (ECLI) with fellowship grants and paid summer internships at local childcare centers. In collaboration with Northern Virginia Community College, the ECLI assists low-resourced teens and adults earn college credits and a career in the early childhood education field.

The program, which hosts classes off-campus in communities throughout Northern Virginia, covers the cost of books, childcare, and college counseling. Current financial aid enables students to pay for just half of the 67 college credits needed for an Associate degree.

Fellowship grants from this Fund will provide the rest. In order to receive a fellowship, a student must be enrolled in the ECLI at the time of application, demonstrate aptitude and commitment to continuing their college education through graduation with a degree in Early Childhood Education, have compelling financial need, and having earned at least 25 college credits in the ECLI.  View Video

  • $10,000 annual gift funds ONE YEAR fellowship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for TWO low-resourced teenS or young adultS studying for a college degree in the early childhood education field as in the Early Childhood Learning Institute
  • $15,000 annual gift funds ONE YEAR fellowship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for THREE low-resourced teen or young adult studying for a college degree in the early childhood education field as in the Early Childhood Learning Institute
  • $25,000 gift funds ONE YEAR fellowship, named in your honor or someone you designate, or your company or group, for FIVE low-resourced teens or young adults studying for a college degree in the early childhood education field as in the Early Childhood Learning Institute.



Elward J. Alexander III Memorial Gift Fund
This Fund provides a cash "gift" for the education of a child or teenager whose family has been victim to a violent crime. Residents of Virginia and Maryland are eligible for this special "gift" of caring.

  • $1,000 gift funds a cash "gift" to be used to paint a bedroom and buy new furniture, pay for counseling, or fund the education of ONE child or teen victimized by violent crime.
  • $2,000 gift funds a cash "gift" to be used to paint a bedroom and buy new furniture, pay for counseling, or fund the education of TWO children or teen victimized by violent crime.
  • $5,000 gift funds a cash "gift" to be used to paint a bedroom and buy new furniture, pay for counseling, or fund the education of FIVE children or teens victimized by violent crime.



General Fund
This Fund assists Hopkins House to provide for the general cost of operating the organization, including but not limited to replacing worn or broken furniture; upgrading or replacing computers and other electronic equipment; purchasing office supplies; and, maintenance of buildings and grounds.

  • $1,000 gift funds replacement of broken or worn classroom furniture.
  • $2,000 gift funds upgrading or replcomputers and other electronic classroom equipment.
  • $5,000 gift funds the repair and maintenance of Hopkins House buildings and grounds.



Endowment Fund
This Fund provides a reliable stream of investment income that helps to ensure that Hopkins House has the financial resources it needs to provide the highest quality programs and services during times of particular and urgent need.

  • $10,000 gift is invested to generate as much as $500 annually to support programs and direct services to children, youth, and their families.
  • $15,000 gift is invested to generate as much as $750 annually to support programs and direct services to children, youth, and their families.
  • $25,000 gift is invested to generate as much as $1,250 annually to support programs and direct services to children, youth, and their families
  • $50,000 gift is invested to generate as much as $2500 annually to support programs and direct services to children, youth, and their families
  • $100,000 gift is invested to generate as much as $5,000 annually to support programs and direct services to children, youth, and their families.
