The Hopkins House Trustees announced the selection of Emely Benitez and Darling Espinoza as their ECLI September and October “ECLI Student of the Month“, respectively. This honor, which comes with a cash prize, is given monthly by the Trustees to a student enrolled in the Early Childhood Learning Institute (ECLI) who best demonstrates their commitment to self-improvement and professional growth through higher education.
The awards were presented at their workplace this week by Hopkins House Vice President, Garvey Wright, and (Acting) ECLI Director, Stephanie Turner-Menson.
Established by the Trustees in 2007, the Early Childhood Learning Insititute seeks to enlarge the pool of highly qualified childcare professionals available for hire by local childcare providers and break the cycle of generational poverty through higher pay. In partnership with Northern Virginia Community College (NVCC), ECLI students are offered the opportunity to earn up to 31 of the 67 credits needed to receive an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education.
