As part of the national Week of the Young Child™ celebrated across the country, Hopkins House is honoring young children and all those who make a difference in their lives.
"All young children need and deserve high-quality early learning experiences that help to prepare them for life," said J. Glenn Hopkins, President and CEO of Hopkins House. "The Week of the Young Child™ is a time for us to recognize that Early Years are Learning Years® for all young children."
Hopkins House has planned a weeklong series of events on its three preschool academy campuses in Northern Virginia, beginning with a spring children's concert on Monday (April 11) at the local library in Fairfax County, a food drive on Wednesday (April 13) conducted by children to help those in need at the local shelter in Alexandria, to a multicultural family pot luck picnic on Friday (April 15) in Herndon, Virginia.
"All these events and activities are designed to demonstrate the importance of high quality early care and education for children," said Hopkins. "And, to broaden awareness about the central role parents, caregivers, and the community play in the development of young leaners."
