Today, the Arlington Chapter of The Links Incorporated awarded $4,566.66 to support Hopkins House's music program for the "Young Scholars" enrolled in its preschool academy.
The Links, Incorporated is an international, not-for-profit corporation, established in 1946. The membership consists of 12,...000 professional women of color in 270 chapters located in 42 states, the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. It is one of the nation’s oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of extraordinary women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.
The Arlington Chapter of The Links, Inc. was founded in 1966. Chapter members contribute more than 3,000 documented hours of community service annually – strengthening the Arlington and Alexandria communities.
"This is a marvelous gift to the children of Hopkins House," said J. Glenn Hopkins, President/CEO of Hopkins House. "The Links have been generous donors to Hopkins House at least since 1988.  Over that period they have been unwavering in their commitment and generosity.  We are truly blessed by their support."
The funds will be used to support the cost of a music teacher to introduce music and movement to the children enrolled in Hopkins House's preschool academies.
