The Hopkins House Preschool Academy is a true "school." Our focus, in addition to offering a safe-haven for the children, is educating and preparing them for exceptional achievement in kindergarten and beyond.

Welcome and thank you for selecting Hopkins House James L. & Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy as your choice in providing the highest quality education and care for your child. McNeil Preschool Academy is an award-winning, nationally recognized preschool, serving children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. A fixture in the Fairfax/Mount Vernon area, we pride ourselves on our commitment to the families of Northern Virginia.

Our highly educated and trained staff not only instructs children in preparation for bright futures through the Creative Curriculum,  but uses a variety of assessment tools. Education and safety receive the highest priority in all that we do and in our school community. We strive to implement best practices, integrating social and academic learning in every aspect of the school day. By teaching and reinforcing expectations, routines and our school rules, we believe students can best focus on their most important job of learning.

We strongly believe that children are most successful when parents are involved in their child’s/children’s education. We hope that through the combined efforts of home and school, your child will thirst for knowledge, skills and learning. The James L. and Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy is located in Fairfax County, three miles north or Ft. Belvoir off US-1.  The preschool accepts children 6 weeks to 5 years of age.  It is open from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday.
