Both Hopkins House Preschool Academies are accredited by the National Association for the Education of the Young Child (NAEYC). To earn NAEYC Accreditation, the Preschool Academies went though an extensive self-study process, measuring the program and its services against the ten NAEYC Early Childhood Program Standards and more than 400 related Accreditation Criteria. The Academies received NAEYC Accreditation after an on-site visit by NAEYC Assessors to ensure that the Academies met each of the ten program standards. NAEYC-accredited programs are also subject to unannounced visits during their accreditation, which lasts for five years.
In the 25 years since NAEYC Accreditation was established, it has become a widely recognized indication of high-quality early childhood education. More than 7,000 programs are currently accredited by NAEYC -- just 8% of preschools and other early childhood programs nationwide.
Hopkins House provides an easy way to make tuition and fee payments using a credit card.
The James L. and Juliette McNeil Preschool Academy is located in Fairfax County, three miles north or Ft. Belvoir off US-1. The Academy accepts children 6 weeks to 5 years of age. It is open from 7am to 6pm Monday through Friday.

Coming from the Washington, D.C., Arlington, VA, and the City of Alexandria:
From US-1 South (Jefferson Davis Highway) head south through Old Town Alexandria.
Cross over I-495 and continue south for 6.5 miles.
At the flashing yellow lights, turn left onto Forest Place. (If you pass the Post Office you have gone too far)
Make an immediate left into the Hopkins House parking lot.
Coming from US-1 North (Woodbridge, Lorton, Ft. Belvoir):
Merge onto US-1 North. Ft. Belvoir will be on your right. Continue for 2 miles.
There will be a Jiffy Lube on the left. Turn right onto Forest Place and make an immediate left into the Hopkins House parking lot.
Coming from the West (Fairfax County Parkway):
From Fairfax County Parkway South turn left onto US-1 North.
Ft. Belvoir will be on your right. Continue for 2 miles.
