employmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education positions at Hopkins House require, at minimum, a college degree in Elementary or Early Childhood Education. Management and administrative positions require, at minimum, a college degree and one or more years of supervisory experience. All prospective employees must undergo criminal and child abuse background check, must be 18 years or older, and a United States citizen.

DESCRIPTION

Reporting to the Vice President/Chief Operating Officer, Assistant Vice President/Chief Academic Officer is responsible for developing and overseeing Hopkins House's early childhood education and career pathways programs.

Specific duties include:
1) Program Development: Conceive, develop, and draft concept outlines for new programs consistent with the mission of the Organization; and oversee the implementation of new programs.
2) Program Management: Oversee the management and operation of existing programs; recommend hiring, promotion, and employment termination of program staff; and coordinate staff training and development.
3) Program Budget: Propose and oversee program budgets in consultation with the CFO.
4) Program Assessment: Collect, analyze, and interpret assessment data on existing programs; and drafts reports to funders.
5) Program Marketing and Outreach: Develop and oversee implementation of program marketing strategies, and support achievement of student enrollment goals; and, represent the organization to outside groups as assigned by the President.
6) Internal Report: Provide staff support to the Programs & Assessment Committee of the Board of Trustees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Must have a Master's degree or higher in early childhood, elementary, family education, or related field.
* Must have 5 or more years of progressive professional management experience in education or nonprofit setting.
* Must have strong writing and verbal skills.
* NAEYC experience highly desirable, but not required.
* Fluency in second language desirable, but not required.

STARTING SALARY RANGE

  $65,000+ (Commensurate with experience)

DESCRIPTION
JOB SUMMARY:
The Teacher, Preschool is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing daily preschool academy activities for the students in his/her classroom.           

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Plan and implement daily lesson plans;
2) Participate in in-service training and attend local and regional early child development conferences, seminars and meetings;
3) Maintain safe and clean classroom environment;
4) Organize and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom;
5) Maintain classroom records, including children's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), attendance records, health and safety forms and procedures, and written reports;
6) Meet regularly and frequently with parents; 
7) Order classroom supplies and submit  custodial and repair requests;
8) Ensure compliance with state and local licensing rules;
9) Supervise classroom staff; and,
10) Provide such other related duties as may, from time-to-time, be assigned.           
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Must have a Bachelor degree or higher in Early Childhood or Elementary Education, or related field; Must have at least 2 years of professional classroom experience in a licensed childcare facility or school; be proficient in MSOffice; have CPR/First Aid and Food Handling certifications; and, have strong verbal and writing skills. NAEYC experience desired. Proficiency in second language desired but not required.
