Management and administrative positions require, at minimum, a college degree and one or more years of supervisory experience. PRESCHOOL PRINCIPAL

DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

The Principal is the chief academic officer of the Preschool Academy, responsible for overall operation and management, maintaining educational quality standards, recruiting and retaining students, maintaining open communication with parents, and representing the Academy to community groups. The Preschool Academy will serve up to 140 children ages 0 to 5, and employ 17 full-time educators.

 

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and institutional policies;
2) Recommends Academy staff hiring, promotions, and disciplinary actions;
3) Supervises and evaluates the Assistant Principal and staff;
4) Implements preschool curriculum, reviews lesson plans, and collects assessment data;
5) Provides in-house training and professional development for Academy staff;
6) Conducts meetings of Academy staff to discuss and coordinate Academy policy and procedures;
7) Markets Academy in the local community and recruits students;
8) Achieves and maintains maximum student enrollment at all times;
9) Ensures proper and timely completion of student enrollment documentation;
10) Develops and maintains positive and open communication with parents of Academy students;
11) Conducts meetings of parents of Academy students;
12) Conducts orientation for parents of Academy students using Family Handbook as a guide;
13) Publishes monthly Academy newsletter for parents of Academy students;
14) Serves as ex officio member of Academy Parents Council;
15) Serves as ex official member of the Preschool Academy Committee;
16) Serves a Community Liaison to the homeowners/civic association;
17) Assists parents to complete tuition assistance applications;
18) Manages the Academy budget;
19) Authorizes administrative and financial request forms;
20) Represents the Academy to outside groups and organizations, as assigned by the President;
21) Submits reports to the President, as requested;
22) Attends trustee meetings; and,
23) Provides such other related duties as may, from time-to-time, be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Master's degree or higher in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field. Must be a demonstrated strong instructional leader; have at least 2 years of supervisory or managerial experience in a licensed childcare facility or school; have previous classroom experience; be proficient in MSOffice; have CPR/First Aid and Food Handling certifications; have strong verbal and writing skills, as well as demonstrated organizational skills and curriculum experience; and be willing and able to work regular early morning and late evening hours. NAEYC experience desired. Proficiency in second language desired but not required.

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$55,000 - $56,500

DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

DESCRIPTION

SUMMARY: The Director will manage a diverse and sustainable funding portfolio through grant development, special events, community outreach, public relations, and direct mail campaigns.

 

KEY JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. Manages special events, projects;
2. Coordinates direct mail campaigns;
3. Researches grant prospects and drafts grant proposals;
4. Oversees the development and printing of marketing materials and publications
5. Manages organization website;
6. Coordinates volunteer activities;
7. Manages the organization's tuition assistance program; and
8. Supports the Hopkins House Alumni & Resource Development Committee

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Special Events: Plans and executes events from conception, event site logistics, to post event follow-up, monitoring deadlines, budgets and communications. Drafts sponsorship solicitation letters sent by volunteers and senior management. Generates revenue through ticket sales. Coordinates event logistics, managing and detailing vendor contracts and preparing them for President's, or designated senior management's signature. Recruits, trains, and schedules all event volunteers. Conducts post-event analysis and evaluation.
* Donor Relations: Drafts solicitation and acknowledgement letters to donors. Tracks donor contributions in computer software program (Sage50) and coordinates dissemination of donor tax letters.
* Direct Mail: Manages direct mail campaigns including drafting letters, brochures, and bulk mailing.
* Grant Development: Researches grant prospects. Drafts proposals for all foundation, corporation, and government grants germane to the work of the organization.
* Public Relations: Using the organization's policies regulating the design of flyers, brochures, and media advertising, and the use of the organization's logo, taglines, and messages, drafts newsletters, annual reports, press releases, and maintains website and major events calendar
* Tuition Assistance Program: In collaboration with the Office of the Assistant Vice President/Chief Academic Officer and the Hopkins House Alumni & Resource Development Committee, manages the organization's tuition assistance program. Drafts notification letters to scholarship families, develops reports and compiles scholarship application packets for review by the Hopkins House Alumni & Resource Development Committee. Tracks scholarship awards.
* Other Duties Assigned: Other related duties may be assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher; 2 or more years of management experience in resource development, special events, and/or general fundraising; Able to think critically, and work both independently and as part of a team; Have strong writing, verbal, and planning skills; Have strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines; Have excellent interpersonal skills; Have experience in designing and implementing special events, and fostering volunteer engagement; Have public relations & marketing experience; Is computer literate and proficient in Windows environment; Have experience in the non-profit sector, particularly with organizations serving children and their families (preferred, not required); and must have a valid license and sufficient transportation to meet needs of job.

STARTING SALARY RANGE

$50,000 - $52,000

The Teacher, Preschool is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing daily preschool academy activities for the students in his/her classroom.           

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Plan and implement daily lesson plans;
2) Participate in in-service training and attend local and regional early child development conferences, seminars and meetings;
3) Maintain safe and clean classroom environment;
4) Organize and maintain developmentally appropriate classroom;
5) Maintain classroom records, including children's Individualized Education Plan (IEP), attendance records, health and safety forms and procedures, and written reports;
6) Meet regularly and frequently with parents; 
7) Order classroom supplies and submit  custodial and repair requests;
8) Ensure compliance with state and local licensing rules;
9) Supervise classroom staff; and,
10) Provide such other related duties as may, from time-to-time, be assigned.
