FOR PARENTS

 

The purposes and objectives of the Parents Council shall be to foster interest in the life of the Academy; to promote cooperation, communication and unity of spirit among parents, faculty, staff, trustees and students; to encourage understanding among parents concerning the Academy’s objectives; and to provide a means for parents to be of service to the Academy. Each Preschool Academy at Hopkins House has its own Parents Council.

The Preschool Academy Parents Council is open to all parents and/or legal guardians with children at Hopkins House.  Participation is free.  General meetings are held monthly.

Busy Parents Cookbook - On Sale Now!

The cookbook is full of easy, healthy recipes for parents on the go.  The recipes were contributed by parents and community members.

Recipes include:  “Bagel Fruit Pizza,” “Seven Layer Salad, ”Vegetable Fried Rice,” “Sour cream Enchiladas,” and “Peanut butter balls.”

All proceeds directly benefit the Preschool Academy Children!  Only $10 for each cookbook.

Linetta Earley - President.  Ms. Earley works as a property manager in Washington, DC.  She has one child enrolled at the Academy.  Her son has been a student at the Helen Day Preschool Academy for 2 ½ years.  He will begin K-prep in the fall.  Ms. Earley is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

  

Kyle Talente - Treasurer. Mr. Talente is a partner with RKG Associates, Inc. in Alexandria.  He has one child enrolled at the Academy and is a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia.

 

Jerri Muhammad - Secretary. Ms. Muhammad works as a teacher for ACPS.  She has one child enrolled in the Academy, who will begin in the K-Prep class this fall and is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Candace White-Halverson - Infant Room Representative. Mrs. White-Halverson is a first time parent here at Hopkins House.  Her son is currently in the Infant Room.  Mrs. White-Halverson works for the U.S. Army.

 

Myiketta Barlow - Toddler Room Representative. Ms. Barlow works for Inova Alexandria Hospital.  She has a set of twin boys who will be transitioning into the K-pre class this September and is a resident in Alexandria, Va.

 

Holly Bryant -  Preschool Room Representative. Mrs. Bryant works for the U.S. Army.  She has one child, who has been for two years and is in the Preschool classroom.  Mrs. Bryant is a resident of Alexandria, Va.

 

Cameron Henry - Junior K. Prep Room Representative. Ms. Henry is resident of Alexandria, Va.  She has one child who attends Hopkins House Preschool Academy.

Heather Bakula – President & Toddle Room Representative. Ms. Bakula is a Human Resources Specialist for the Department of the Army. She has one child enrolled at the Academy. Ms. Bakula is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Nicole Maxwell – Vice President & Jr. KPrep Room Representative. Ms. Maxwell is a water remediation and restoration employee. She has one child enrolled at the Academy. Ms. Maxwell is a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia. 

 

Danielle Jones – Treasurer. Mrs. Jones is an accountant. She has one child at the Academy. Mrs. Jones is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Montego Darden – Secretary & KPrep Room Representative. Ms. Darden has two children enrolled in the Academy. She is a professional at Harris Corporation.  She is a resident of Fairfax County, Virginia.

 

Stephanie Fultz – Infant Room Representative. Ms. Boone is a professional with Booz Allen Hamilton She has one child at the Academy. Ms. Fultz is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.

 

Nelly Adjei-Tetteh – Preschool Room Representative. Ms. Adjei-Tetteh is a professional singer.  She has one child at the Academy. Ms. Adjei-Tetteh is a resident of Alexandria, Virginia.
